Workshop & Lezing 'Wol Verven met Planten & Paddenstoelen'

Come to the extensive workshop and lecture 'Dyeing Wool with Plants and Fungi' on September 5th to learn everything about wool dyeing. You will go home with tons of knowledge and can continue experimenting with dyeing wool and other textiles yourself afterwards. Together with @theweeyarncompany, we will spend a day nerding out about this subject with you.

Elske will take you through dyeing wool with plants & fungi and will give an extensive lecture on the history of dyeing textiles with plants and fungi. From fibers in prehistory to the present day!

@theweeyarncompany has been dyeing wool for years and sells beautiful skeins in his shop and studio in Nijmegen. As an experienced dyer, he will share his tips and tricks! The location will also be in his wonderful studio. So, you can take a look at the shop afterwards!

What is included in this workshop?

- A lecture on textile dyeing from history to the present

- Workshop on dyeing wool with plants and mushrooms

- Knowledge of pigments in natural materials, different types of fibers, mordants, the influence of water and pH, modifiers, extraction, the entire dyeing process, post-treatment, lightfastness, etc.

- You will go home with 2 skeins of beautiful sustainable wool (one dyed with a plant and one with a mushroom)

- Coffee, tea, and some snacks :)
